La Escapada surge de un viaje de huida a Dublín, al final de la pandemia en 2022. Como los celtas, que sobrevivieron al aislamiento en territorios inhóspitos para los romanos, busqué refugio en lo extraño, en esta isla que parecía flotar al margen del mundo. Cada fotografía refleja inestabilidad, supervivencia y la búsqueda de un hogar que nunca llegué a encontrar.

Inspirada en La Divina Comedia, donde Dante atraviesa el infierno y vive un exilio que transforma en escritura, yo hago lo propio: encuentro lecciones en cada interacción. Este viaje captura la desolación, la reflexión y la permanencia de lo vivido. Es una reflexión visual sobre la búsqueda de raíces, refugio y pertenencia, y sobre cómo la vida nos obliga a aprender a habitar nuevos espacios cuando hemos sido apartadas de la buena senda.

The Departure grew out of a trip to Dublin at the end of the pandemic in 2022. Like the Celts, who survived isolation in lands the Romans found inhospitable, I went looking for refuge in the unfamiliar, on an island that felt as if it floated at the edge of the world. Each photograph speaks of instability, survival, and the search for a home I was never able to find.

Inspired by The Divine Comedy, where Dante moves through hell and turns his exile into writing, I did something similar, finding lessons in every encounter. This journey captures desolation, reflection, and the lasting weight of experience. It’s a visual meditation on the search for roots, shelter, and belonging, and on how life forces us to learn to inhabit new spaces when we’ve been pushed off the path we once thought was ours.
